Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026
The short version: Praxis runs entirely on your own device. Your files, the questions you ask, and the actions AI agents take never leave your machine. We do not have a server that sees any of it — because there is no server.

1. Who we are

Praxis ("we", "us") is a guardrail application that runs locally on your computer. It sits between the AI tools you use and your machine, deciding which actions to allow, block, or require your approval for.

2. What Praxis processes — and where

Praxis processes the following entirely on your device:

None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party by Praxis. There is no Praxis account, no cloud sync, and no telemetry server operated by us in the free edition.

3. What we do NOT collect

4. Third-party AI tools

Praxis governs actions from AI tools you already use (ChatGPT/Codex, Claude, Cursor, and others). Those tools have their own privacy practices and may send your prompts to their own servers. Praxis does not control and is not responsible for what those third-party tools do with your data — Praxis only governs what they are allowed to do on your machine.

5. Local AI models

When you use Praxis offline, it can run a local AI model (via Ollama) on your own hardware. Questions you ask the local model are processed on your device and are not sent anywhere.

6. The website

This website is a static site. If we later add basic, privacy-respecting analytics or an email signup, we will update this policy and clearly disclose it. The website does not set advertising cookies.

7. Children

Praxis is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as Praxis evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.
